UNESCO supports Academy of Educational Planning and Management (AEPAM) Islamabad for National Plan of Action on MDG Acceleration Framework (2013-15)

Islamabad - On 13-14 June 2013, a meeting of the core group was held in "Academy of Educational Planning and Management (AEPAM)", Islamabad, under the chairmanship of Dr. Imranullah Khan, Deputy Secretary, to review and discuss the draft National Plan of Action (NPA) on MDG Acceleration Framework (MFA). A presentation for the briefing of the Minister has been prepared by the UNESCO Consultant from AEPAM and it was reviewed by the members of the Core Group for its improvement. On behalf of UNESCO, Mr. Arshad Saeed Khan, Senior National Specialist, UNESCO, Islamabad and other members of the group provided valuable inputs for improvement of the NPA on MFA as well as on the Presentation.

UNESCO has been supporting Ministry of Education and Training in the preparation of the National Plan of Action (NPA) on MDG Acceleration Framework (MFA). The preparation of the NPA has been initiated after UNDP started communicating with off-track countries to develop plans for accelerating the progress towards MDGs. The need and urgency to work for accelerating the progress towards MDGs was highlighted during the visit of UN special envoy on Education. The A core group with the following members was formed to assist the preparation of the framework:

The Minister for ET SHE has asked for a briefing on 17th June 2013 regarding the preparation of NPA on MFA. A presentation for the briefing of the Minister has been prepared by the UNESCO Consultants and it was reviewed by the members of the Core Group for its improvement. Mr. Arshad Saeed Khan, Senior National Specialist, UNESCO, Islamabad and other members of the group provided valuable inputs for improvement of the NPA on MFA as well as on the Presentation.
