Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Gets Boost with BOP Partnership – 100,000 Homes & 500,000 Jobs Coming

In a major step toward providing affordable housing for low-income families, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s flagship initiative, Apni Chhat Apna Ghar, has officially partnered with the Bank of Punjab. This collaboration aims to make interest-free home loans easier and faster to access for thousands of deserving households across Punjab.

The partnership was sealed through a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Punjab Housing Department and the Bank of Punjab. The signing ceremony was attended by Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin, Bank President Zafar Masud, and other top officials, marking a strong commitment to reshaping the province’s housing landscape.

What the Partnership Means for You

Under this agreement, the Bank of Punjab will be the exclusive financing partner for housing loans in the fiscal year 2025–26. This means:

  • Faster processing of interest-free home loans

  • Simplified documentation and approval process

  • More funding for qualified applicants

So far, over Rs. 60 billion in loans have already been disbursed to 52,000+ beneficiaries, with Rs. 900 million recovered every month through easy installments. An additional Rs. 10 billion will be released soon to expand the reach of the programme.

Building Homes & Futures

With a goal of 100,000 homes in 4.5 years, the programme is already changing lives. The housing initiative includes:

  • Construction on government land

  • Affordable homes in private schemes

  • Interest-free loans for families with small plots

According to housing officials, over 51,000 families now own their homes, while 45,000+ houses are under construction. The project is expected to create 500,000 jobs, giving both shelter and income opportunities to the people of Punjab.
