Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is all set to launch ‘Air Punjab’, the province’s first official airline. This ambitious project marks a major step toward building modern and affordable air travel for the people of Punjab. The government plans to start with four Airbus aircraft, which will be leased initially to kickstart the operations.
In a high-level meeting held in Lahore, CM Maryam Nawaz directed that Air Punjab must be built as a top-tier airline in Pakistan, offering reliable service and modern facilities. According to Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari, the airline is expected to begin operations within eight to twelve months.
But that’s not all — the Chief Minister also greenlit a bullet train project between Lahore and Rawalpindi, in partnership with Pakistan Railways. The project will be developed under a public-private partnership model, with coordination led by Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
